The legend says that in the first half of the 15th century, within the walls of the Chudov Monastery, located in the territory of the Moscow Kremlin, monk Isidore created a technology for making an original strong alcoholic drink.

His creation, called in Rus' "Bread wine", became the beginning of the production of strong alcohol.

In the 19th century a technology of spirit's making has changed, since then this method is the main in producing modern Russian vodka.
